This salt & pepper mix reimagines the classic with a distinct Australian twist. Gentle salt flakes, hand harvested from the waters of the Murray-Darling basin in south-eastern Australia and smoked on reclaimed oakwood are blended with Tasmanian pepper berries (aka "Mountain Pepper") to create this seriously addictive blend.
Unlike processed table salt that's stripped of all its natural goodness by chemical processes, this pure salt is rich in naturally occurring nutrients and minerals. Mountain Pepper adds a peppery bite and a stunning deep purple hue (which happens when the pepper berries are crushed and come into contact with the salt's acidity).
Smoky, woodsy, floral. This salt is delicate in flavour but packs a peppery punch. It has a lovely, almost alpine, aroma and will serve you well as an all purpose blend that will enliven meat, fish, poultry, seafood, vegetables and salads and lend a distinct savoury peppery flavour that is so much more intense than generic salt and pepper blends.
