Chai masala (meaning spiced tea) is the soothing tea hailing from South Asia combining black tea, creamy milk, spices and sugar. They say there are as many chai spice mixes as there are Indian grandmothers.
Our version combines the classic warm spices (cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and ginger), a touch of fennel (for anise-like notes), pungent black peppercorns (which some say is the secret to authentic chai) and Australian Daintree black tea leaves (for a local twist).
You can obviously make a delectable spiced tea with this mix (without the hassle of having to buy and grind whole spices). But our Masala Chai blend will also lend layers of exotic flavours to many creamy or fruity desserts without adding sugar (think custard pie, banana bread, shortbread, pancakes, oatmeal cookies or vanilla sponge cake), your morning oats or granola, smoothies, chia puddings, lattes, ice cream, iced tea and spiced cocktails. Either way, you'll discover a new level of tasty.
